THE CANTERVILLE GHOST

The Otis family bought Canterville Chase. The family was composed by: Hiram Otis, an American minister, Lucretia, his wife, Washington, the eldest soon, Virginia, a little girl of fifteen and the twins, called “The Stars and Stripes”.
When they arrived at Canterville Chase, on the steps there was Mrs Umney, the housekeeper. In the library they saw a pool of blood: it was the blood of Canterville Ghost’s wife. But the family don’t belived in ghosts.
On night, Mr Otis met Sir Simon, the ghost, but he wasn’t afraid of him.
For many days the twins doing terrible tricks at the ghost, even they made a puppet of a ghost for scared Sir Simon.
One day, Virginia came back from a ride and she met the ghost in a room. The ghost convinced Virginia to help him: she musted cried and rayed for him, that the ghost can rested in peace. Virginia accepted, and they going in a black cavern.
The Otis family searched Virginia all the day, but they found her at night, on the landing. She had a casket in her hands, that contained a lot of jewels.
Virginia led the family in a little room. In the room there was the skeleton of Sir Simon.
The skeleton was buried in the garden.
In 1890 Virginia married Cecil Cheshire, but she never told him what she doing whit the ghost in the cavern.
